It has been said by some owners that a potential owner should refrain from purchasing a Kuvasz if barking will be a problem at the home. Bone crunching can be a problem with this breed. Strong jaws and an inability to appreciate the risk of damage to themselves by this sort of eating means that you really do have to take great care never to let them eat bones from your food or preparing theirs.
If size of the dog is important to you, and make no mistake, size makes a lot of difference to those in small flats etc, then note that on average these dogs will be slightly bigger that a Labrador Retriever. Kuvaszok puppies were given to visiting dignitaries as a royal gift, and the King was said to have trusted his dogs more than his own councilors.
As a result, they are not recommended for novices and those who do not have time to train and socialize them properly. By all accounts this dog will make a good pet, but as we always say, if you buy one please remember that it is a breed which is used to the great outdoors and well exercised as a working dog. All working dogs need a lot of exercise.
